I thought it might be helpful to ask my students to write a review so you can read what THEY think of their Classes. I promise I did not bribe any of them and when I read them myself I was well chuffed.
Thank you to all of them 😊
“I have been going to Helen’s Art Class for two years now. I started as a complete novice, never having painted or sketched before. I can not believe how far I have come in such a short while - I held a mini exhibition back in the Summer and sold three paintings.
Helen is an amazing teacher, very talented, very patient and extremely kind. The lessons are great fun, as well as informative. The other people in the class are wonderful, we have great chats and laughs and we all support each other. One of the best things is when you’re doing a piece of art work and either Helen or one of your class mates makes a lovely comment - it’s so encouraging.
I was so nervous on my first day and I needn’t have been, everyone was amazing, I look forward to going every week, not just for the art but for the social side to. I can highly recommend it. Come a long we’d love to see you.”
“Helen is a star! She teaches in a kind and supportive way and encourages the class to find their individual style using group and one to one tuition.
I love my art class it keeps me sane.
What can I say Helen you have taught me how not to search for perfection but to love the journey.”
A few years ago I was spending a lot of time at home as a carer and it was suggested that painting could be a therapeutic activity for my wife which we could share. I enjoyed the painting so much that I considered joining an Art Class; however I had never had any art classes, even at school, and so I was worried that I would make a fool of myself. Luckily my daughter got tired of my dithering and enrolled me in Helen’s Class.
I found the class very relaxed and informal: everyone joins in and it is a pleasure each week to spend time in an atmosphere of enthusiasm and good humour. Even at my own level of incompetence I have found the instruction clear and painless and now I find it most rewarding when I succeed in producing a picture which is recognisable!
“I’ve been in Helen’s Art Class from the beginning and it’s now an important part of my art and social life. With Helen’s teaching and encouragement I’m now on Chichester Art Trail.”
“Helen is an amazing teacher, calm and reassuring, whilst challenging you to do more. It’s a sociable and inspiring group, the ideal place to explore new techniques and materials to help you find your own style. The high spot of my week.”
“You do not have to be an artist - or even a potential one - to learn technique, make progress and create something of which you can be proud of, by joining Helen’s Art Class. Helen has a different work plan each term based on a theme or a particular artist, so plenty of variety to suit everyone. She has a light teaching style which allows for all levels of ability. Most important, her class has a warm, gentle and encouraging atmosphere where friendships are formed, coffee and biscuits (sometimes cake) are consumed and we all have a really good time. “
“Helen’s Art Class is a friendly family unit, with plenty of chat and artistic flair. Here creativity goes wild and tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits all at hand.”
I’ve been a member of Helen’s Art Class for six years and thoroughly enjoy every weekly session. Helen is always encouraging, giving new projects with help and advice throughout the term. I always look forward to every new project.
I’ve been Going to Helen’s Art Class for seven years. I enjoy each class with the opportunities to improve my skills. The group is friendly and welcoming to new people.
